What to Expect During the Fair



01 - Animal Sciences

Study of animal behavior, classification, development, pathology, taxonomy; animal ecology, animal genetics, animal husbandry, circadian rhythms, cytology, entomology, herpetology, histology, ichthyology, ornithology, paleontology, physiology, studies of invertebrates, etc. 

02 - Behavioral and Social Sciences

Human behavior, social and community relationships; anthropology, archaeology, circadian rhythms, educational testing, ethnology, learning, linguistics, perception, psychology, sociology, urban issues, etc. 

03 - Biochemistry

Chemistry of life processes; enzymes, food chemistry, hormones, metabolism, molecular biology, molecular genetics, photosynthesis, protein chemistry, etc.

04 - Cellular and Molecular Biology

Study of the structure, function, intracellular pathways, and formation of cells. Studies involve understanding life and cellular processes specifically at the molecular level. 

05 - Chemistry

Study of nature and composition of matter and laws governing it; fuels; inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry (other than biochemistry), physical chemistry; materials, metallurgy, pesticides, plastics, soil chemistry, etc.

06 - Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

Studies that primarily focus on the discipline and techniques of computer science and mathematics as they relate to biological systems. This includes the development and application of data-analytical and theoretical methods, mathematical modeling, and computational simulation techniques to the study of biological, behavior, and social systems.

07 - Earth & Planetary Science

Climatology, geography, geology, geophysics, meteorology, mineralogy, oceanography, paleontology, physiography, seismology, speleology, tectonics, air pollution and air quality, bioremediation (i.e., oil spill cleanup, etc.), ecology, etc.

08 - Embedded Systems

Studies involving electrical systems in which information is conveyed via signals and waveforms for purposes of enhancing communications, control and/or sensing.

09 - Engineering: Electrical & Mechanical

Computer engineering, controls, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robot mechanics, solar electric generation, thermodynamics, etc.

10 - Engineering: Energy & Transport

Aerodynamics, aerospace and aeronautical engineering, alternative fuels, automotive & marine vehicle development, fossil fuel energy, heating & refrigeration, renewable energies, solar heating, wind energy, etc. 

11 - Engineering: Materials & Bioengineering

12 - Environmental Science & Management

The application of engineering principals to solve practical problems of managing mans' interaction with the environment with the goal to maintain and improve the state of an environmental resource affected by human activities. Air pollution and air quality, bioremediation (i.e., oil spill cleanup, etc.), ecology, etc.

13 - Health & Medical Services

Study of diseases and health of humans; allergies, cellular & molecular biology, dermatology, dentistry, epidemiology, genetics, immunology, nutrition, ophthalmology, pathology, pediatrics, pharmacology, physiology, sanitation, speech and hearing, etc. 

14 - Mathematics

Science of numbers and their operations; algorithms, development of formal logical systems or various numerical and algebraic computations and the application of these principles; algebra, calculus, complex analysis, geometry, number theory, probability, statistics, etc. 

15 - Microbiology

The study of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, prokaryotes, and simple eukaryotes as well as antimicrobial and antibiotic substances. 

16 - Physics and Astronomy

Physics is the science of matter and energy and of interactions between the two. Astronomy is the study of anything in the universe beyond the Earth.

17- Plant Sciences

Study of plant life, including their structure and function, life history, growth, interactions with other plants and animals, classification, and evolution.

18 - Robotics and Intelligent Machines

Use of machine intelligence is paramount to reducing the reliance on human intervention.

19 - Systems Software

The study or development of software, information processes or methodologies to demonstrate, analyze, or control a process/solution.
